If your gas boiler isn’t firing up, or the timer controls (smart controls such as Nest learning thermostat, Hive thermostat or standard Honeywell programmers or thermostats) aren’t working, firstly check you have electric power on the boiler control display screen. Secondly check to see you have power on the electric power socket such as the plug, fused spur (some gas boiler fused spurs have lights on to see if you have power there or not). If their is no boiler on either of these the next place to check is your fuse box/consumer unit. In many cases the problem is caused by a blown fuse in the fused board/consumer unit or fused blown in the fused spur or heating plug. You can flick the switch on your fused board for the gas boiler feed to get it back on.
Most boilers have safety devices built in so if any of these are tripped, then a simple reset may get your whole system working. Due to most boilers having safety cut out devices a simple boiler reset will not harm you or the boiler.
If you have a remote control timer (wireless controls or smart stat controls) or room thermostat (wireless thermostat), then it can sometimes stop sending signals to the boiler. Check your instructions, and check the batteries too.
